BIG TIME RUSH, CODY SIMPSON, RACHEL CROW PERFORM AT IHEARTRADIO THEATER

‘Rushers,’ were you one of the lucky winners to attend Big Time Rush’s tour event at the iHeartRadio Theater in New York City on Feb. 29? If not, don’t worry, we have all the details for you right here!
The iHeartRadio Theater, presented by P.C. Richard & Son, is a small darkened theater that holds between 200-250 people. Located in Tribeca, NY, the 5,500 square foot performance area is a popular venue. Alicia Keys, Jennifer Lopez, Mariah Carey and Justin Bieber have also performed there.
For all who don’t know, BTR is a pop band and a TV series on Nickelodeon. The band consists of four crowd pleasing [male] singers- Kendall, James, Carlos and Logan.
On-air personality for z100’s 2 p.m.-6 p.m. radio show, JJ , kicked off the show. The funny guy hyped up the crowd, which ranged from ages 4-16, plus parents, and once the clock struck 7:00 p.m., Big Time Rush ran out onto the stage and performed two of their hit songs.
The boys opened with “Music Sounds Better With U” and “If I Ruled The World.” Throughout the hour and a half invite-only show, BTR also sang “Worldwide,” “Making of City is Ours,” and “Boyfriend.”
In addition, they picked out a fan from the audience to sit with them while they sang an acoustic version of “Covergirl.” The boys treated their fan, a tween named Stephanie, to hugs and kisses while she was on stage.
Special guests, Rachel Crow and Cody Simpson also briefly stole the spotlight.
The adorable Rachel Crow, most commonly known for her appearance on The X Factor, has a personality so vibrant, it’s infectious. Although the beginning of her performance was a little off, the notes that this little girl belted out were absolutely incredible. She can sing and she proved it by singing a cover of Duffy’s “Mercy.”
Australian-born singer Cody Simpson also showed us what he’s got by performing two of his songs. Is seems like Simpson, who comes across as being coy and only speaks when he is spoken too, was lacking energy. Perhaps it could have been from a cold he was battling which was evident by him sniffling and it being heard through the microphone.
During his two-song performance, he was more energetic though. He sang “Angel” and a snippet of his new song featuring T-Pain, “So Listen.”
The concert came to a close with all performers coming together to sing a rendition of The Beatles’ “I Wanna Hold Your Hand.”
