Big Time Rush Film Their 3rd Season, With New Single “Elevate” Set For Release

The title track from BTR’s sophomore album “Elevate” is due for release on June 3rd, amidst a wave of boyband-mania currently spreading across America, if not the world.
“Music Sounds Better With U”, the first single from the album made the top 25 of the US Billboard chart, and “Elevate” is expected to reach even higher on the back of their recent tour with superstar boyband One Direction in February and March.
The tour was a huge success, with every gig selling out as fans of both bands got to experience the other – though it was rumoured in parts that the bigger screams were reserved for the Brit newcomers.
Kendall Schmidt, James Maslow, Carlos Pena and Logan Henderson made their debut appearance on TV screens back in 2009 and quickly became a hit with audiences.
The show plots the adventures of the boys as they attempt to follow their dreams in becoming popstars – and in the process form a hit boyband.
The pilot episode was watched by 6.8 million viewers on Nickelodeon, and set the four on their way to both TV and musical fame. Critics have compared the BTR series against the Jonas Brothers, with Nickelodeon however taking Disney’s recipe and improving on it further.
DVD Talk spoke positively about the show, saying: “Say what you will about Nickelodeon’s teen programming, but they’ve got the art of making a solid sitcom down to a science.”
Big Time Rush were recently pictured in Maui, Hawaii, enjoying a spot of volleyball in the sun – and giving us mere mortals a chance to ogle at their rippling physiques.
Not bad eh!
The Nickelodeon hitmakers recently took part in MTV’s “Battle of the Boybands” – an online game where 32 boybands from over the years were pitted against each other, with fans voting for who they wanted to see go through each round.
In round one, BTR comfortably overcame All-4-One, and also despatched legendary crooners Boyz II Men in round two. However, the quarter-finals proved a step too far, where they beaten by The Wanted by a measly 0.12%!
Tour chums 1D also only reached as far as the quarters before they were despatched by Mindless Behaviour, for an equally tight margin of 0.28%.
How close!
