Big Time Rush’s Kendall Schmidt and Bro Kevin Schmidt Talk Training Pet Pig Yuma: ‘If Babe and Wilbur Can Do It, She Can Do It!’ (EXCLUSIVE)

Watch out, Glitzy! There’s a new pig on the Hollywood scene — and she’s ready to be a big time star.

Big Time Rush star Kendall Schmidt and his brother Kevin Schmidt are proud of Kev’s pet pig Yuma, who has been hard at work, training for her big screen debut. It seems talent really does run in the Schmidt family — even the family pets are stars!

EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: Kendall and Kenneth Schmidt

Last month, Big Time Rush played the event of a lifetime as they took their music to Washington DC for a show at the White House!  Now that their tour is over (we talked to them while they were still on the road,) you’d think they’d be taking a break - not the case!

We got to ask Kenneth and Kendall Schmidt a few questions about the BTR performance at the White House and some projects that they’re working on - want to know what?  Check it out below!

Fanlala: Did you meet the entire Obama family?  What were they like?

Kendall Schmidt: This is the second time I’ve met the first family at the White House. However, Michelle and the girls did sit next to us at the KCAs this year, which was a lot of fun by the way.

They really are great people... present, intelligent, and charismatic.

F: Can you tell us firsthand about the event that you performed for in Washington DC?

KS: It was a really chillaxed acoustic performance.  About halfway through the set we asked if anyone wanted to come sit at the front of stage and sing along with us.  The White House has been good to us.

F: Do you have any advice for those who want to get involved about the upcoming election, even for kids who aren’t old enough to vote?

K&KS: Well, the minimum age to vote is 18, but no a minimum age to start educating yourself about the issues facing Americans today.  The internet is the world’s largest digital encyclopedia.  There's seemingly infinite information available at our fingertips.  If you have a desire to learn about the world, you can with the internet.

F: Are there any non-BTR side projects that you guys work on as a sibling team?

K&KS: Absolutely!  We just launched our website www.iAquaponics.com as a portal to connect businessmen and woman from around the world who interested in investing in urban agriculture.  Healthy and sustainable foods are a huge passion of my family and aquaponic technology is the perfect tool to modernize traditional farming methods.

F: We at Fanlala know it’s never too late to begin planning for the holidays.  Do you guys have any Halloween costumes ready?

KS: I haven't put much thought into mine just yet, but I'm going to tie a blanket aroundYuma.  She'll be a pig in a blanket!

F: Now that your tour is nearing its home stretch - what’s in store for BTR fans in the coming months?

K&KS: We've got a South American tour coming up late September and into October. After that I'm taking a much need vacation... destination to be determined!  The guys and I start back on the fourth season of BTR January 2013.  Also, we're working on our third album so keep your ears perked for news about that.

Stay at the ready for Kendall and Kenneth’s upcoming projects, and of course you won’t want to miss out on the new season of ‘Big Time Rush’ coming soon.  We always love talking with the members of BTR!

Big Time Rush’s Kendall Schmidt Writes Letter to Michelle Obama, Announces New Venture Called iAquaponics

In August, Big Time Rush performed at the White House for Michelle Obama’s “Kids State Dinner,” during which the First Lady told the group to “make smart choices.”

Now, band member Kendall Schmidt is taking her advice to heart.

Schmidt recently teamed up with his brothers Kenneth and Kevin to launch iAquaponics.com, a site designed to educate the public on the commercial food production system known as Aquaponics — and he’s so passionate about the project, he wrote a letter to Michelle Obama asking for her support.
Celebuzz recently spoke to the Schmidt brothers about their website, organic lifestyle and whether they actually eat any junk food. Check out the full interview, plus an exclusive look at Kendall’s letter to Michelle Obama, after the jump.

Kenneth Schmidt's "Micro Macro" featuring Big Time Rush's Kendall Schmidt

Kenneth Schmidt (yep, that's Big Time Rush's Kendall Schmidt's older brother!) is releasing his debut single, out August 21, called "Micro Macro" -- and J-14 has an exclusive sneak peek! Kenneth describes his sound as "simple, thought-provoking storytelling" and his first track even features his younger bro, Kendall! We caught up with both brothers to get their thoughts on what it's really like recording a song with your sibling!

Keeping Up with the Schmidts!

If you’re anything like me, you love the Schmidt family. So here’s an update on Kendall’s brothers, Kevin and Kenneth.

It’s a big day for Kendall’s oldest brother, Kenneth Schmidt, as well! Kenneth will releasing his debut single, “Micro Macro” on iTunes on August 21st. He gave Seventeen Magazine a clip of the song, so head over to Seventeen.com to listen to the tune. Kenneth told Seventeen: “I grew up during a pretty tumultuous time for our country and for the the world. I wrote ‘Micro Macro’ as a way to make sense of what happened and where we were going.”

It’s a bitter sweet day for Kevin G. Schmidt. He is saying goodbye to the cast and crew of CBS’s The Young And The Restless. But things are looking up for Kevin!

In an interview with Soap Opera Fan, Kevin says that he is “producing and wrote an animated feature with a great cast (Ashley Tisdale, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Benson, Logan Henderson, Kendall Schmidt) and producer (Rob Minkhoff ‘Lion King’) that’s currently in production.” But that’s not all! Kevin wrote a draft of Cheaper By The Dozen 3 as well.

Sorry to hear about Y&R Kevin, but bigger things are just are the corner!
